What is spam?
If you were to Google the word "spam" this is what you get...
As you can see, the definition of spam is "irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients" and that is exactly what TrueTwit is all about. They send a large number of irrelevant messages to Twitter users each and every day.
How many messages?
Well, only they know for sure, but I estimate the number to be about 50,000 per day! That's more than 18 million per year!!
As you can see from the two TrueTwit messages below, which were sent almost exactly 24 hours apart, the serial numbers differ by 197043. However, I doubt these are truly "serial" (one after the other) numbers. Instead, the numbers generated probably increment in a random manner such that each number differs from the previous number by 1, 3, 5, or 7, which would make it difficult to guess the pattern of numbers.
If the numbers are generated like this, that would mean TrueTwit is sending out approximately 50,000 Direct Messages each day and that would certainly constitute "a large number of recipients"

Are these messages irrelevant?
Yes, and let me tell you why they're irrelevant.
TrueTwit messages are irrelevant because they don't do anything to help you, despite what you might think, and they don't help reduce spam either. In fact, TrueTwit messages are spam! Yes, that's right, you're sending out spam in a feeble attempt to stop spam and that just doesn't make sense, so please stop using TrueTwit.
What? But TrueTwit says they will stop bots from following me, isn't that true?
Well, yes, that's probably true, but really, who cares? Why are you worried if a bot follows you on Twitter?
I don't want those bots to spam me!
And there it is!!
TrueTwit has done such a good job at confusing the issue of where exactly spam comes from on Twitter that many people simply do not know the truth, so let me tell you.
When you're on Twitter, you might get a spam DM (Direct Message) or maybe you will see some spam tweets in your newsfeed. This spam comes from people (or bots) that YOU follow, NOT people (or bots) that follow you.
Whoa!! Dude! You just blew my mind. Is that true?
Yes, it's true, when you're on Twitter, spam comes from people YOU follow and so, if you get spam, all you have to do is unfollow the spammer. It's as simple as that. By the way, that's why most people will immediately unfollow a TrueTwit user. We follow you and then immediately we get a TrueTwit spam DM asking us to validate that we are human. Did you ever stop to think what kind of a first impression that makes? It's not good and that's why we unfollow you!
I'm actually taking it one-step further. I'll unfollow you AND add you to my SHITTY list. The list is published so that other people can download it and import it into their Twitter account. I figure if you're going to use TrueTwit, we will counter that with a TrueTwit block list. That seems fair, don't you think? You don't want bots to follow you and so you use TrueTwit, which annoys a lot of humans in the process, and we don't want to encounter any TrueTwit users, and yes, we will annoy them in the process. By the way, if you stop using TrueTwit, I'll take you off the block list.
So, in conclusion, TrueTwit is useless and irrelevant because it doesn't stop spam. Therefore, the validation request messages that TrueTwit sends are also irrelevant and as previously mentioned, these messages are sent to "a large number of recipients". Thus, TrueTwit is indeed spam because they send "irrelevant or inappropriate messages on the Internet to a large number of recipients" and as a result, through association, all TrueTwit users can be considered spammers and are therefore in violation of the Twitter Terms of Service (Section 8).
